Detailed information and application form
The 12th International Scientific Conference “Law in Business of Selected Member States of the European Union” will take place on 6th November 2020 on the campus of the University of Economics in Prague at the following address: nám. Winstona Churchilla 1938/4, Prague 3 – Zizkov, Czech Republic. At the same time, part of the conference program will also take place on the campus of the Faculty of Business of the University of Economics in Bratislava at Dolnozemská cesta 1, Bratislava, Slovakia. Both places will be connected by online video conference tools.
The conference is intended for both the general public and students of doctoral study programs as well as academic staff. Participation in the conference is free of charge.

- Submission of conference application and abstract: October 18, 2020.
- Submission of conference paper: November 2, 2020.
Conference fee
- Participation in this conference is free of charge, i.e. there is no conference fee.
Application to the conference is available here. Application to the conference together with an abstract of the paper (up to 10 lines long) shall be submitted via e-mail by October 18, 2020 (to: konference-pravo@vse.cz); please write „APPLICATION“ as a subject of your e-mail.
Conference papers with the recommended scope of 8-10 standard pages without a list of literature (1 standard page = 1.800 characters including spaces and footnotes) should be submitted via e-mail by November 2, 2020 (to: konference-pravo@vse.cz) in DOC/DOCX format according to this template. Please write „PAPER“ as a subject of your e-mail.
Signed Honour and Originality Declaration, which is available here, should be submitted together with the conference paper. Conference papers will be published in a peer-reviewed conference proceeding with ISSN. The conference proceedings will also be sent to Web of Science database for indexing.
Official language of the conference
- Official languages of the conference are Czech, Slovak and English.
Accommodation
- Please note that the conference organizers do not provide participants with the accommodation (however, we will be happy to send over an overview of recommended accommodation opportunities close to the university campus).
Application to the conference
- Application to the conference shall be submitted via e-mail by 18 October 2020 (to: konference-pravo@vse.cz); please write „APPLICATION“ as a subject of your e-mail.
Conference paper requirements
- The topic of your conference paper is limited by the thematic areas of the conference:
- Law and new technologies, changes in legal regulation;
- Legal regulation responding to the coronavirus pandemic;
- Corporations in EU member states;
- Legal regulation of special (regulated) branches of business;
- European and international aspects of doing business;
- Insolvency law;
- Competition law;
- Intellectual property law;
- Consumer protection.
- Each paper must contain a title, abstract and key words in English.
- In order to ensure that strict conditions for a scientific conference are met, all conference papers shall include (if possible due to the paper topic):

- At least 3 quotations from articles included in the Web of Science or Scopus database;
- At least 2-3 quotations from previous proceedings of our conference;
- Quotations of other sources, mainly articles in peer-reviewed journals;
- Conference papers should not contain quotations from popular science publications, textbooks etc.
- Formal requirements:
- Font no. 12;
- Font type: Times New Roman;
- Margins 2.5 cm;
- Spacing 1,5;
- Block alignment.
- The recommended scope of your conference paper is 8-10 standard pages without a list of literature (1 standard page = 1.800 characters including spaces and footnotes).

- Papers will be published in a peer-reviewed conference proceeding with ISSN. The conference proceedings will also be sent to Web of Science database for indexing.
- Conference papers should be submitted via e-mail by 2 November 2020 (to: konference-pravo@vse.cz); please enter the password „PAPER“ as a subject of your e-mail). Please note that conference papers submitted after this deadline cannot be included in the conference proceeding for organizational reasons.
- Signed Honour and Originality Declaration, which is available here, should be submitted together with the conference paper.
- Least but not last, please note that the scientific committee of this conference reserves a right to decline the paper based on non-compliance with these rules or based on results of related double-blind peer review process.
Review process for the conference papers
- Assessment of the level of compliance of the paper topic with the set of thematic areas of the conference, assessment of the fulfilment of citation requirements and the subsequent decision on acceptance / non-acceptance of the paper.
- Two independent reviews in an anonymous review process (double-blind peer review).
